MATE PLUS Inc. (the “Company”) complies with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, and establishes the following policy to protect the personal information of users of the “StayMate” service.

1. Personal Information We Collect

  • Host (member): email address, password (stored encrypted), accommodation information, and payment-related information.
  • Guest: the Service does not require Guests to register an account. Inquiry content entered by Guests, the accessed room information, browser language settings, and access logs necessary for operating the Service may be processed.

2. Purposes of Collection and Use

  • Host member identification, service provision, and fee settlement
  • Generating multilingual AI responses to Guest inquiries and forwarding unanswered inquiries
  • Improving service quality, error analysis, and preventing fraudulent use
  • Producing statistics to improve the Service and provide Host guide (FAQ) recommendations — in this case, only anonymized and aggregated information that cannot identify individuals is used, and no specific accommodation, user, or individual answer is shared or disclosed.
  • Fulfilling legal obligations and responding to customer inquiries

3. Retention and Use Period

In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved. However, where retention is required by applicable law, the Company retains it for the relevant period.

  • Records on payment and supply of goods: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Service use (access) logs: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

4. Provision to Third Parties and Outsourcing

The Company does not provide users’ personal information to third parties beyond the scope specified in this policy. However, for smooth service provision, the Company may outsource processing as set out below, and processors handle information only within the scope of the outsourced purpose.

  • Anthropic: multilingual AI responses and translation
  • Vercel: service hosting and infrastructure operation
  • Turso: database storage and management
  • Paddle.com Market Ltd.: international payment processing (Merchant of Record)

5. User Rights

Users may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of their personal information, and the Company will act without delay in accordance with applicable law. Requests may be directed to the data protection officer below.

6. Security Measures

The Company implements technical and administrative safeguards required by applicable law, including password encryption, access control, and encryption in transit (HTTPS).
